The local MSA chapters are organizing the MSA Southeast Conference on February 19-21 at UNC Chapel Hill. The theme of the conference will be The Timeless Prophetic Model: Our Role in the Modern World
A weekend full of dynamic speakers, inspirational lectures, interactive workshops, and late night sessions. You will also have an opportunity to network with other MSAs.

The Qur'an contest award ceremony will be held on Friday December 11 after Isha prayers. The special guest for the ceremony is Imam Sheikh Zia from Irving Texas. Please attend the ceremony to encourage our youth to memorize and understand the Holy Qur'an.
Imam Sheikh Zia will also lead the third shift of Friday prayers on December 11 and his topic will be Tarbiyah of Children.
Tazkiyah means to purify one's self. Allah says in the Quran, what can be translated as, 'Truly he succeeds who purifies the self' (Surah Ash Shams: Ayah 9).
The Tazkiyah Retreat is an opportunity to spend a weekend surround by the beauty of Allah's creation, away from the distractions of our daily lives, to purify ourselves, renew our iman, and get closer to Allah.
The retreat includes talks from scholars and youth, workshops, discussions, qiyaams, group activities and more.
Change in our Ummah starts within yourself. "Certainly, Allah will not change the condition of a people, until they change what is within themselves" (Translation of 13:11)

Come celebrate Eid with fellow community members on Sunday September 27 from Dhuhr to Asr at the Islamic Center of Raleigh.
The IAR Women's Committee is organizing this event to share the blessings of the month of fasting. There will be free moonwalk rides, popcorn, cotton candy, balloons, activities, games and much more.
We will also have short talks in the musallah for men, women, and youth.
Please bring a covered dish, snacks, fruits or vegetable trays for your family and to share with another family.
There will henna, embroidery, and quilting demonstrations for sisters.

We encourage our community members to participate in the Friday prayers on Capitol Hill on September 25, 2009. The event is organized by Imam Abdul Malik who frequently visits Raleigh. The event organizers are expecting 50,000 Muslims to perform Friday prayers.
The Education Committee is organizing travel to Washington DC. The charter bus will leave immediately after Fajr prayers on Friday and will return to Raleigh at around 8:00 PM.
